How to create a RAID 10?

Step 1. Create a Logical Volume (LV) with RAID 1 and select the drives (You can see there is one Logical Drive(LD) with relevant drives under this LV)

Step 2. Select the LV and click "Add logical drive" from the bottom of the panel.

Step 3. Create a new LD with RAID 1 and select another drive again.

Step 4. You can see two LD with RAID 1 under this LV, it must be RAID 10 because it stripes with two RAID 1 groups.

Can I use the USB 3.0 or 3.1 port to connect to PC/NB making the storage an expansion drive?

No, GSe Pro 200 can only be connected with external USB storage device. To manage the files on external USB storage devices, please use file explorer.

How many disks can be in one logical volume?

The maximum number for logical drive members is 128. If you are using more drives, you'll need to create another logical drive and stripe them into a single logical volume.

How many disks can the storage handle, and how many JBODs can be attached to storage array?

For SAS 6G models like DS 1000/2000/3000 & GS 1000, maximum of 5 high density JBODs (JB2048 / 2060) or 14 low density JBODs (JB2012/2016/2024B) can be attached to a storage system.

The maximum number of supported drives will be the number of the internal drive slots plus the number of external JBOD drive slots.

i.e. DS 1016: 5 of JB 2060 can be attached

The maximum number of supported drives for 3.5” HDDs is 16 + 5*60 =316

The maximum number of supported drives for 2.5” HDDs is 16 + 14*24 = 352

Thus, the maximum number of supported disks for SAS 6G models is 360.

(i.e. DS 3060+5*JB3060)

For SAS 12G models like DS 4000 & GS 2000/3000/4000, maximum of 7 high density JBODs (JB3048 / 3060) or 14 low density JBODs (JB3012/3016/3024B) can be attached to a storage system by using its on-board expansion ports.

An expansion board can be added on GS 2000/3000/4000 , thus, the system can support up to 14 high density JBODs (JB3048 / 3060) or 28 low density JBODs (JB3012/3016/3024B)

i.e. GS 3016 can attach 7* JB 3060 via on-board expansion ports + another 7* JB 3060 via the expansion board

The maximum number of supported disks is 16+420+420=856.

Thus, the maximum number of supported disks for SAS 12G models is 864.

(i.e. GS 3024+7*JB3060+7*JB3060)

Do you have any best practice guide of volume storage usage (recommended quantity of disks and hot spares for LV)?

No, for different applications we should have different configuration based on the test result done by our verification team.

Does GSe Pro 200 use the same tray as GS/GSe Family?

No, they use the same tray IDs but the tray is different. Pro 200's tray doesn't have metal dome.
